Welcome to the C&DRC website

CADRC Logo Chapel and District Riding Club hold many events throughout the year such as dressage, jumping, shows and also training. We pride ourselves on being a friendly club for all ages.

We are affiliated to the BHS and therefore get involved in team competitions. These are a great opportunity to get to know your fellow members.

Chapel & District Riding Club is centred on the small market town of Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Peak District of Derbyshire (The name dates back to the 11th century and means 'Chapel in the Forest'). The club's showground is set in some of the most beautiful upland country in England. Members benefit from access to literally hundreds of square miles of open country, with dozens of bridleways, tracks and quiet lanes. Perfect riding for both the novice and the experienced rider. With so many natural assets it is not surprising that membership is rising. The club pursues a policy of fun, training, competition and challenge which has established our reputation for good organisation, a truly welcoming atmosphere and some exciting events.

Our Owlgreave Farm showground, at Combs, near Chapel, is the ideal site for Show Jumping, Dressage, Working Hunter and showing classes. With the nearby Goyt Valley and surrounded by the Peak National Park.

The club gratefully acknowledges the debt owed to our many non-riding supporters. We make a special effort to keep them both informed and amused. EVERYONE is welcome at CDRC events! From the mildly interested spectator to the dedicated family support teams who are often the difference between a competitor taking part or not. We are always happy to help with advice, assistance and support to enable that spark of interest to be fanned into a passion for horses and equestrian sport.

Membership is open to all, and ownership of a horse or pony is NOT necessary. Benefits of membership include.....

  • Reduced class entry and training fees, ALSO at other affiliated Clubs
  • BHS affiliation offering access to the highest levels of regional & national competition at which we have been successful over many years.
